Asis and I planned a three-day getaway in La Union. It was sudden when Asis decided to go there. His leaves were already plotted a month or two ago, and he just told me a week before the said trip to also file for a two-day vacay leave. Thankfully it got approved despite the late notice.

2021 was definitely one hell of a ride. There were a lot of great moments, and a fair share of struggles—got hospitalised, moved to a new home, got a new job, had another Psoriasis flare-up, met new friends, and have grown as a person. I actually had a lot more to add to the list, but those were just some of the highlights and low points of my year. I know it has been tough for most of us with the virus still out there, mutating, the typhoon leaving a trail of devastation, and not to mention the incompetence of this government. I just really hope you are still hanging in there.
November 20, 2021 - With the success of the EG Walking Challenge in the Sydney team, the Manila team also had our own version of the initiative. EG created this activity for the employees to stay connected and break the monotony of work from home, and also to have a fresh perspective. We can either choose Manila’s Biking or the Walking Challenge (this one could be virtual, if not comfortable with the face-to-face interaction), and some of us chose the former.

In December of last year, our plans to go to Zambales to work and at the same time, to travel/getaway finally pushed through. We were initially 6 in the group, but Sha got sick the day before our trip. (╥﹏╥) Anyhoo, I was so excited about this trip. I was really looking forward to it. I was just so sick of being at home all the time. I needed a breath of fresh air and some sun, and thankfully though, my Psoriasis also cleared up before this trip.

I honestly felt like October happened years ago. So many things have happened and I just couldn’t remember everything clearly. I also abruptly stopped writing in my journal last month hence I can’t list down everything here like I used to.
September 11 - 12, 2021
After so many months, I finally got to be somewhere away from the city. It was so nice to be surrounded by nature, and to get some fresh air and sunshine. Asis and I have been cooped up inside our home for so long. Our place gets no sunlight, so we don't have any idea what's the weather outside. It is just sad not to be able to get some vitamin D for my Psor because I'm still having a bad flare-up.
Grabbed all these from my IG stories. Lots of food deliveries, and coffee. ╰(▔∀▔)╯

Hi, hello. How are you? So I feel like writing about what's been happening in my life lately. A lot has been going on, and at the same time, nothing much changed. I honestly feel like I'm going through a period where I feel like I'm pretty much stuck in a rut. I feel tired. I'm so stressed. I'm having a Psoriasis flare-up. I'm itching all over. I get annoyed easily. I'm sick of being at home. I just miss being outside with my family and friends. Constant bad news from around the world is making me sad, angry, helpless. And there are just so many deaths. The number keeps growing every single day—deaths of a friend's loved ones, friends of friends. It's just so heartbreaking. We have wasted almost 2 years of our lives being stuck at home. The children should be playing outside, the youths should be in school, we are all should be doing things we want without any restrictions. I just hope we can all cope with all of the uncertainty right now.

“But by throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your head even, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what love is. You know what grief is. And only then can you say, ‘All right. I have experienced that emotion. I recognize that emotion. Now I need to detach from that emotion”

Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie: An old man, a young man, and life's greatest lesson
Anyway, I just finished rereading Tuesdays with Morrie, and this quote really resonated with me. It was a very timely read. I know it's hard to always be positive during this difficult time, but this one is a great reminder that it's okay to feel all these. But that's it, once you recognize these emotions, you detach from them. You step away. Move on. Easier said than done, right? But there's no other way we can continue moving forward if we don't let go. These are actually what I'm trying to tell myself every time I feel down. Not really easy, to be honest. It's not like I can make all these negative emotions go away in a day, so I let myself swim with these negativities but also not let myself drown and be overwhelmed with them. And that's what I'm trying to do now.

I also have this goal to reread all the books I have here with me when we moved and I already finished one. I also got my ordered books from Fully Booked today and I can't wait to get my other pending order. I pre-ordered the new book of John Green (The Anthropocene Reviewed) and this book from a Korean author (Almond: A Novel). So yea, I've been wanting to get back into reading because it has been years since the last time I've been too engrossed in a book. I'll start Kite Runner later!

May was pretty eventful and looooong. I felt like the days were dragging or maybe it was because of the two-week off time I got before I started working with my new employer. So during the 2-week break, I was planning on creating more mugs, but unfortunately, I was not feeling it. I was too lazy to do pottery and I honestly forgot what I did during that break. Anyway, here are the highlights and lowlights of May:
March and April had been really eventful, and since I’m not really good at summarizing I’m just gonna list down everything.
